Chetan Bhagat was born in New Delhi, India, on 22 April 1974.[citation needed] He completed his schooling at The Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan in Delhi.[citation needed] He received a degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 1995, after which he went on to do an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and graduated in 1997.
